The STMG Baccalaureate (Sciences and Technologies of Management and Administration) focuses on the organization and operation of businesses through four main specializations. It is prepared after completing the General and Technological 10th Grade. This national diploma, awarded by the Ministry of National Education, opens the door to management-related careers in many different sectors.

The STMG track is aimed at students interested in the various aspects of organizational management (planning, optimization, forecasting, decision-making, etc.) within major fields such as human resources, information systems, finance and management control, and marketing. It requires a solid general knowledge base, a good command of French and foreign languages, and strong written and oral communication skills. An interest in new technologies is also an advantage.

COURSE CONTENT

The STMG Baccalaureate (Sciences and Technologies of Management and Administration) focuses on how organizations and businesses function through four key subjects: law, economics, management and digital sciences, and business administration. It is taken after the General and Technological 10th Grade. This national diploma, issued by the Ministry of National Education, opens the way to management-related professions in many fields.

The STMG pathway is intended for students who are curious about the different aspects of organizational management (planning, optimization, forecasting, decision-making, etc.) and business operations in areas such as human resources, information systems, finance and management control, and marketing. It requires a good general knowledge, proficiency in French and foreign languages, and strong written and oral communication skills. An interest in digital tools and new technologies is also an asset.

SPECIALIZATIONS IN 11TH AND 12TH GRADE

Law and Economics: develops informed citizens who understand the legal and economic mechanisms that shape society. The course incorporates major contemporary developments (GDPR, energy transition, new forms of currency, social and solidarity economy, etc.). Example question: Should the state intervene in markets?

Management: introduces students to how companies, public organizations, and associations operate. Three main themes are studied: discovering organizational management; strategic management – from diagnosis to goal-setting; and the strategic choices of organizations. Example question: Is a company’s purpose limited to making a profit?

Management and Digital Sciences: focuses on how organizations operate, based on observation, analysis, conceptualization, and interpretation of real business cases. The course relies on real-world situations and uses appropriate digital tools and resources. Example question: Does the pursuit of performance improvement involve risks?

12th Grade Specialization Option: Students continue their studies in law, economics, management, and digital sciences, and must choose between Marketing or Human Resources as a mandatory elective complementing the Management and Digital Sciences specialty.

OBJECTIVES OF THE STMG TRACK

This pathway is designed for students interested in careers within the service and business sectors, whether customer-facing or internal. Graduates of the STMG Baccalaureate typically continue their studies in a BTS program (2 years post-Bac) or an IUT program (3 years post-Bac). The STMG is the most versatile of the technological Baccalaureates, offering a wide range of opportunities in higher education, from business and SME management to banking, export, communication, or real estate careers.
