Jeanne d'Arc School

Welcome to the website of the Jeanne d'Arc School
part of the Saint Louis School Complex in Carcassonne

Our Jeanne d'Arc Institution is a Catholic school. This mission was entrusted to the school by Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac, its foundress. This Spirit continues to live today through the network of Catholic Education to which we belong.

Our school is part of a larger educational group, but above all, it is a school - a place of life where everyone takes part in the education of students, enlightened by the message of the Gospel.

Every student, regardless of age, is first and foremost a person - a person who is loved and who wishes to love. It is through love for others that the act of education can exist. The educational act therefore helps build the person and prepares them for the future.

The educational project of Jeanne d'Arc is founded on the Gospel and, therefore, on faith in humankind. It serves as the foundation upon which the educational community relies to pass on values that contribute to the growth of every individual.

Through this project, the fulfillment of each person is what we seek above all. This fulfillment unfolds through different stages of growth.

The educational project thus promotes a number of essential values that allow each student to assert themselves freely. These values include honesty, love of a job well done, a sense of effort, and respect for others, among others.

That is why we strive together to build not an anonymous collective, but an educational community:
Where everyone feels welcomed and recognized as a person.

Where young people can:
- Grow, develop their potential, and build themselves.
- Gain knowledge and prepare for a profession.
- Learn to think independently and take responsibility for themselves.
- Become men and women capable of forming relationships, creating bonds, taking action, and serving others.

Where, through learning, they can:
- Discover the values that give meaning to life.
- Receive the message of Jesus Christ.
- Achieve a personal faith, deepen their relationship with God, and discover the true meaning of humanity.

Daycare and Supervised Study Sessions

Daycare operates:
- In the morning from 7:30 a.m. to 8:20 a.m.
- In the evening from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Supervised study sessions take place in the evening from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.; they may be followed by daycare time. Once a study session has begun, it must be completed in full in order not to disturb this time of work.

In the evening, daycare for preschool children takes place in the ''salle des colonnes'' or in the preschool playground, while supervised study for primary students is held in classrooms - one study group for CP and CE1, and another for CE2, CM1, and CM2.
Afterwards, all children are gathered in the Reception area from 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

From 5:00 p.m. onward, any child present will be billed for daycare or study time.

School Lunch Service

The school lunch service is provided by the company API.
Meals are prepared on site by the manager and his team, led by Mr. Richard MICHAUD.

Meal tickets are sold every weekday at the accounting office. Menus are regularly posted in the entrance hall as well as on the APEL Facebook page.

Preschool children eat in a dining room reserved especially for them and are supervised by the preschool assistants.

Primary school children eat in a self-service dining area under the supervision of an adult. They can choose from several starters and desserts and have their meal in the school restaurant.
